Amazon SA will partner with the Kolisi Foundation on crucial educational initiatives and community programmes in underserved communities across South Africa. National rugby captain and icon Siya Kolisi will serve as a brand partner for 12 months, until March 2027, and the collaboration will see him feature across Amazon’s marketing campaigns and brand initiatives in South Africa.
Robert Koen, Amazon MD for Sub-Saharan Africa, says that Kolisi embodies resilience, leadership and community – values at the heart of what it means to be South African. He adds that Siya connects authentically with people from all walks of life and shares the company’s commitment to making a real difference in communities across the country.
Kolisi, who captained South Africa to Rugby World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023, has become one of the country’s most influential sporting leaders. Through the Kolisi Foundation, he addresses inequality through initiatives focused on education, food security and the prevention of gender-based violence.
Kolisi says he is excited to partner with Amazon South Africa. “Growth should create opportunity for others, and through the Kolisi Foundation, we’ve seen the impact that access to education, support and opportunity can have in a young person’s life. I’m grateful that this partnership will contribute meaningfully to this work, while connecting with South Africans in a genuine way.”
