Kingfisher Landscaping, formerly a family business owned by Badec Bros. Deco, has been absorbed into Life Green Group as part of its growth strategy and adding to its portfolio of companies. The name has been retained and it will focus on high-end residential landscaping for estates, cluster complexes, townhouse developments and individual home gardens. Kingfisher’s original landscape designer, Chris Lamprecht, has joined Life Green Group.

Ida-Marie Strydom, one of Life’s directors, says they will build on the 20-year old Kingfisher brand. “Since the start of Covid and lockdown, people have been spending more time at home, also working from home, and have realised how essential it is to make the best of their outdoor spaces. We’ve never had a specific division for residential landscaping, so taking on Kingfisher is a good fit for us, and has come at just the right time!”

Edrich Badenhorst, the original owner of Kingfisher Landscaping, established a name for himself and his company, and Life Green Group is pleased to have acquired this. They will continue to offer bespoke domestic landscape design to the market throughout South Africa.

Life Green Group is a green solution company that has won numerous awards over the years. The following are the key divisions within the group:

  • Life Landscapes – corporate landscape maintenance and installations; sports facilities construction with both natural and artificial turf

  • Life Indoors – interior plantscaping

  • Life & Earth – food waste management, composting and carbon measurement

  • Kingfisher Landscaping - specialist residential landscaping
