SA’s TWO BIGGEST NATIONAL PARKS IN TALKS

iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Kruger National Park leadership recently held a three-day knowledge and ideas exchange session. Kruger is the country’s largest national park and iSimangaliso is the second largest – it was also declared South Africa’s first World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.

The meeting is expected to bring about results which will improve conservation and tourism in a country badly affected by Covid-19. iSimangaliso will be hosting an investment summit in August 2021 as part of the implementation of its commercialisation strategy. The planned summit has already attracted the interest of keen investors in the country and across the world and will provide a platform to local, national and international interest groups to avail themselves of business opportunities. These include projects such as building and running tourism facilities including resorts, lodges, bush camps and product offerings.

The management of South African National Parks is committed to working closely with the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority and to sharing expertise in order to accelerate projects.
