Planning is at an advanced stage for the SANA (SA Nursery Association) trade fair to resume at a nearby cricket/sports club as soon as restrictions are lifted, and the blueprint is ready for the annual convention, which is likely to resume in June 2022 at the Wild Coast Sun. In the meantime, the trade fair will be online in March (starting on the 10th and continuing for a week), and the annual convention and awards ceremony will also be online, in June.
Other noteworthy points emerging from SANA’s February Exco meeting are as follows:
the sale of SANA’s property in Midrand is in the process of being finalised. Staff are still working from home and new office space is being looked into;
association chairpersons have reported that their members experienced a very good trading season;
Blue Jay has been proposed to manage the Garden Centre Association marketing campaign, which will again be focussed on providing social media exposure to garden centres. Print media and possibly radio exposure will also be considered;
*the SANA website will be revamped and will include a member section that will feature member information only. This section will be accessed via individual member login;
a short online survey will be sent out to gather information on general member satisfaction. It will be sent out via the SANA WhatsApp bulletin. Previously members were contacted telephonically by SANA;
the Green Business Magazine will be launched in Spring and content will be sourced shortly;
the SANA Golf Day 2021 took place, adhering to strict social distancing measures and compliance with Covid regulations. Nine teams joined the event but there was no social event afterwards.
