TIMBER CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE

The Timber Construction Conference will take place on 12 September 2023 at Future Africa, Pretoria. Themed ‘Growing Timber Connections’, it will be tailored specifically for engineers and architects who play pivotal roles in shaping the future of construction. The event will feature a knowledge-sharing conference, exhibition by industry and students, and networking. Winners of the Timber Construction Design Competition will also be announced.
The conference is organised by the University of Pretoria, Enterprises University of Pretoria, Pretoria Institute for Architects and the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. It is sponsored by York Timbers.
Additionally, it aims to uncover the benefits of timber as a construction material, from its sustainability and versatility to it aesthetic appeal and energy efficiency. It also seeks to promote the widespread adoption of timber construction throughout South Africa, showcasing its numerous benefits and exploring its potential. Industry experts, government officials and thought leaders will share their knowledge, insights and experiences.
