Cape Garden Centre has opened in George, joining its Stellenbosch, Joostenbergvlakte, Somerset West and Vredendal branches. The family-owned garden centre offers a large variety of plants, pots, containers and more, as well as friendly, expert advice for gardeners.
The Joostenbergvlakte branch opened in 1996 and has evolved into the largest garden centre in the Western Cape. The second branch outside Stellenbosch opened in 2005, followed by Somerset West in 2016 and George in 2024. In 2020, an online plant shop was launched.
Cape Garden Centre grows its own plants at its wholesale nursery in Vredendal and produces its own pots and water features at its factories. In this way, the owners pursue their passion for good value, passing this on to their customers.
Cape Garden Somerset West recently won first place in SANA’s Consumer Choice Best Garden Centre of the Year, 2025.
