Garden Walk retail and lifestyle centre has been launched in Hartenbos to serve the growing Mossel Bay region and broader Garden Route. Hartenbos is a well-known coastal town near George, forming part of the greater Mossel Bay region. It supports a growing residential community and offers a range of amenities including schools, churches and sports clubs.
Developed by Moolman Group in partnership with Dorpstraat and Organic Coral Developments, the centre fits their ethos of creating a retail environment that provides essential services while also contributing to the social life of a growing coastal community. The vision for Garden Walk is to create a space that is true to the character of the Garden Route.
Its design draws inspiration from the local terrain, with architectural elements that evoke the surrounding coastal landscape and maritime heritage of the Mossel Bay area. Natural textures and curved forms echo the shapes of nearby dunes and ocean horizons, while materials such as steel, timber and brick speak to the maritime character of the region.
Outdoor seating areas, restaurant terraces and children’s play zones combine with landscaped areas to create a relaxed setting for visitors. Art also forms part of the character of Garden Walk, with murals inspired by indigenous fauna and flora.
A communal workspace with free Wi-Fi provides a space where students, professional and local residents can meet, work or relax.
